Year-end at CYM
To end off our school year at CYM, a three day camp was planned for June 6-8, 2008. Although the weather interfered with some of our
planned activities, the facilities at Camp Chestermere allowed us to have a great time, regardless of the weather.

Keep the Flame Alive in Calgary
On the initiative of the World Congress of Ukrainians, the Holodomor Commemoration
began in Australia with the lighting of the Holodomor Torch that will travel to 33 countries of the world.
The Torch has now arrived in Canada and was in Calgary on May 2, 2008.
The event was organized by the Ukrainian Canadian Congress,
Calgary Branch in which our local CYM branch actively took part. More

Lessons in Weaving on a loom
Last Saturday's CYM activities were unique. When learning about history, traditions and the beginnings of Ukrainian culture, we often
refer back to traditional handicrafts such as pottery, embroidery and weaving. All of us have been in awe of home-made woven costumes and

On November 24, sumivtsi from Calgary joined the rest of the Ukrainian nation in mourning the victims of the Holodomor 1932-1933.
