The start of spring is always exemplified by the days of Shevchenko. In honor of the 194th anniversary of the great Ukrainian poet's birth, the Ukrainian Canadian Congress organized the annual concert, in which our Sumivtsi took part.

To open the concert, the pupils of the School of Ukrainian Studies at Assumption Parish recited some of Taras Shevchenko's poems.

"Korinniya" and "Slava" choirs also performed at the concert.

Grade 7 students of the School of Ukrainian Studies presented a montage of the life and works of Shevchenko which also included a slide presentation.
