Many of you will already be aware of the resolution adopted by the European Parliament on 25 February about the situation in Ukraine, and the amendment which was added by a group of MEPs ‘deploring’ the award of the title ‘National Hero of Ukraine’ to Stepan Bandera and hoping that President Yanukovych would reconsider that award. It also referred to Stepan Bandera as a Nazi collaborator.
Druzhynyky tabir - May 2010
In May, CYM in GB will be holding its first ever camp for druzhynyky. The bank holiday weekend will be full of interesting events centered around Ukrainian traditions, sports and typical camp activities.
Application forms for the camp will be available in January 2010 here on the website. The camp is for over 18s only and will take place May 28-31 May 2010.

Between 4th and 9th September 21 dancers and 7 support personnel flew to Ukraine to take part in the “Zoloti Vorota” International Youth Folklore Festival in Kyiv.
Druzhynnyk Workshop
On October 3 there will be a workshop for druzhynyky held at Leicester club. There will a number of presenters including representatives of the CYM World Executive. CYMivtsi will have the opportunity to learn more about the role of druzhynyky, have a chance to hear from active druzhynyky in the UK, help to plan futur activities and learn more about using their work in CYM in applications and interviews for jobs and courses. Hoverla Performed at Ukrainian Festival in Poland
A group of 23 dancers and musicians of Derby based Hoverla Ukrainian Dance Ensemble were invited to participate during the weekend of June 26th-28th at a Ukrainian Children's International Folklore Festival of Ethnic Minorities in the town of Wegorzewo, North Poland based on the shores of Lake Mazury. It is first time in the history of the Festival that a group from the UK has participated.
