About Cheremosh! Ukrainian Folk Dance Ensemble
Cheremosh! is a performing ensemble dedicated to the preservation and presentation of Ukrainian folk music and dance. Cheremosh! is an integral part of CYM's mission to educate the youth of our community about and to promote to a broader public our Ukrainian cultural heritage.
We offer this opportunity to learn about the dances and culture of Ukraine in a fun, friendship-building setting, and don't forget--being part of an Ukrainian dance ensemble also means the opportunity to perform in colorful costumes, embroidered blouses and baggy pants!

Rehearsals
Our dance season begins in September and runs through mid-May. Dance practices are held at:

We ask every participant to commit to attending weekly practices throughout the year, plus an occasional weekend-long dance workshop.

Performances
Cheremosh! performs in various events throughout each dance season. These typically include several yearly events held at the Ukrainian American Community Center in Minneapolis, i.e., the Minneapolis-St. Paul Ukrainian Heritage Festival in September, the International Holiday Bazaar in December, and Cheremosh's own annual Spring Concert in May; the Festival of Nations held each year in St. Paul, MN; and recently, the Ukrainian Days Festival in Chicago!
Each year a variety of other performance opportunities emerge as well!
