Dear Members and Supporters –
Our organization was, and is, a place where our children come to participate in their weekly youth meetings,
attend Ukrainian Saturday school, and participate in various cultural, social and sport
activities. Through the American Ukrainian Youth Association our children maintain their
Ukrainian identity and socialize with other Ukrainian youth, forming friendships that last a lifetime.
Our Grand Opening Festival on Saturday, October 17, 2009 was an especially momentous occasion
for our oseredok. Our vision was transformed into a reality with the opening of our newly expanded center.
”Honor the Past…Build the Future!” is now a reality.
The hard work of our volunteers, the dedication of our CYM, Iskra and Ridna Shkola parents and the generosity
of our supporters greatly contributed to the success of our project. The day was celebrated by our CYM yunatstvo,
Iskra dancers, Ukrainian School students, their families, the Ukrainian press, dignitaries, supporters and well
wishers from the Ukrainian and American communities.
It is estimated that over 600 individuals attended our Apel and the “blessing” of our new facility, the performances
by our Iskra Dancers, our Ukrainian School students, CYM Choir of AUYA Myloka Pavlushkov Branch and “Spaleny Teater”
of AUYA Mykola Pavlushkov Branch. Recognized for their years of service and dedication by the National Executive of CYM,
individuals were given their 25 and 30 year pins. After the announcement of the Car Raffle winner, over 250 guests danced into
the night. Please enjoy the pictures of our Grand Opening Festival on the events pages of this website.
